The reason I buy Living Nutz organic sprouted Almonds at the Hippocrates Store is because these almonds come from organic farms in Italy and Spain. They are raw, organic, unpasteurized, soaked, sprouted and so tasty. Pasteurization destroys flavor and nutritional value. Most U.S. pasteurization occurs by gassing the almonds in a chemical called propylene oxide (PPO). PPO is considered a probable carcinogen and is illegal to use on food in most other countries in the world. Living Nutz saves me time from having to do the soaking, sprouting and dehydrating.
